Eating Problems of All Sizes

Let's create the life of your dreams.

Maybe you want to lose weight, stop hurting yourself with food, or eating behaviors, stop obsessive thoughts about eating and your body, or learn to feel good about yourself. I won't make assumptions about you based on the size of your body. We only talk about your weight, eating behaviors, diet, or exercise if that's what you want to do. We focus on what's important for you right now.

"I know what I should do, but I don't stick with it, and I don't understand why."

If you've been trying to lose weight, gain weight, stop purging, make healthier food choices, or exercise—and find you haven't been successful—there may be underlying problems in the way. These problems and behaviors often surface when we try to make changes like eating healthily or exercising.

Therapy can support you if you're:
  • Sabotaging yourself

  • Eating emotionally

  • Thinking obsessively about food

  • Re-experiencing trauma

  • Having memories of physical or sexual abuse

  • Feeling Worthless

Managing Change

If you’ve made changes to your eating, changed size or changed eating behaviors, you may find that things are coming up that you used to use food and weight to manage. Maybe you're struggling to deal with a smaller body or a larger one, having difficulty dealing with sexual attention, managing feelings without food or maintaining your new lifestyle choices. Together, we can tackle these difficulties and give you some new tools so you can enjoy your life again.

Counseling and Psychotherapy can help

I have been working intensely with clients with eating issues - particularly overeating and obesity - for 20 years. About 50% of my clients initially come to me because they are struggling with food and weight. I understand these problems from the inside and will not judge you for your size or your struggles. You don't have to face this alone.
